Jazz Foundation Of America

For more than 35 years, the nonprofit Jazz Foundation of America has worked to keep jazz, blues and R&B alive by helping musicians in need. When illness, accident, disaster or old age impacts the lives of working musicians, the JFA is there with compassion and discretion to help provide emergency assistance, pro bono medical care, financial support and meaningful gig and work opportunities.

With a dynamic group of musicians, advocates and licensed clinical social workers overseeing day-to-day operations, the JFA is a small team that accomplishes big things. Their methodology is rooted in fostering long-term, personal relationships to empower clients and restore hope and dignity in their most trying times. Through recent seismic shifts in the music industry, extreme weather events across the country, and a devastating pandemic, the JFA continues their important work providing support in more than 7,000 cases a year nationwide.

Notes For Notes

Notes for Notes® is a national nonprofit that builds, equips, and staffs in+after-school recording studios offering youth the opportunity to explore, create, and record music for free. Studios are packed with contemporary instruments like guitars, drums, keys/synths, DJ & groove stations – plus podcasting equipment and full digital recording capability. But at the core of every studio is a Producer focused on bringing out the best in every young artist by inspiring, educating and empowering them in the discovery of their potential.

Founded in Santa Barbara in 2006 on the core belief that music is the universal language of humankind with the power to transcend any cultural, racial, socio-economic or geographic barrier, N4N® has expanded to 30 studios across the US – and over the next 5 years the goal is to launch a studio in every state!

Jazz Across America

5 vibrant cities, 5 brilliant hosts, 1 uniquely American art form. Produced by member-supported KSDS Radio in San Diego, “Jazz Across America” is a nightly deep dive into jazz heritage. Keeping The Blues Alive

Through budget cuts, teacher shortages, limited resources, and a worldwide pandemic, the past five years have had a devastating impact on education — particularly in areas like music education that rely heavily on hands-on technique and in-person group interaction. The crisis sparked a special partnership between us and the nonprofit organization Keeping The Blues Alive.

Founded in 2011 by legendary blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, Keeping The Blues Alive has been able to fund music programs and initiatives that have enriched the lives of more than 100,000 students in all 50 states. They accomplish this by making weekly donations to music projects in schools, funding classes, and providing musician relief grants all over the country.

Voices of the Art

32 Bar Blues Voices Of The Art

We’re committed to finding the sweet spot where art and commerce meet, and celebrating the voices that make up American “song.” To that end, 32 Bar Blues pays tribute to pioneering musicians, writers and photographers each season – totaling more than 100 artists so far. Most of these honorees were not household names when we featured them but they have gone on to win Grammys, Emmys, Pulitzer Prizes, National Book Awards and other top honors in their fields; they have become contemporary leaders of their art form.

Why buy from us? Because all profits we receive from the sales of their albums, CDs, books and photos are given directly to the artists themselves.

PAST PARTNERSHIPS

African Poetry Book Fund

Since our first catalog in 2012, we’ve celebrated dozens of pioneering writers on our pages, but one extraordinary project from our featured poet Kwame Dawes merits special recognition. Realizing the limited opportunities for the publishing of books by poets across the continent of Africa, Dawes founded the nonprofit African Poetry Book Fund in 2014 to promote and advance the development and publication of the poetic arts of Africa.

Through book publication, workshops, seminars and contests as well as collaborations with publishers, booking agents, colleges and universities, Dawes and his editorial board have published more than 100 African poets from Africa and her worldwide diaspora in spectacular books of elegant design.

The nonprofit Vail Jazz also sponsors a school program that has helped educate over 20,000 students across central Colorado. As longtime fans, we reached out to the Vail Jazz team to help mitigate some of the devastating impact of the pandemic with several proud sponsorships of Workshop Student Scholarships.
