JFA Honors Randy Newman, Lou Adler, Bennie Maupin and Smokey Robinson

The return of the Jazz Foundation of America’s annual West Coast benefit at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato club saw lifetime achievement awards being presented to four titans of the music world: Randy Newman, Bennie Maupin, Lou Adler, and Smokey Robinson. Joining in the tributes were luminaries Jackson Browne, Merry Clayton, Herbie Hancock, JFA Artistic Director Steve Jordan, Jeffrey Wright, Danny Glover, Lisa Fischer, Tom Scott, Billy Childs, and more.

During the evening, the Jazz Foundation team expressed special thanks to the generous customers of 32 Bar Blues for supporting the JFA and their lifesaving programs. Through your purchase of our Jazz Foundation T-shirt and other special items, we’ve donated more than $90,000 to the JFA – which helps provide emergency assistance to jazz, blues and roots musicians in need due to the pandemic, age, illness or disaster.

Our JFA T-Shirts, special CDs, albums and books are still available – with all profits received from their sale going directly to the Jazz Foundation of America. Click here to shop the JFA collection.
